June is nearly over in Amsterdam: what’s left to do?

There are still a few great events coming up this week, so if you have time drop by either of the following (or preferrably both!  It’s a great time to be in Amsterdam!):

Amsterdam Roots Festival

The Amsterdam Roots Festival is back in town for the 14th year in a row at the end of this month.

“Featuring renowned artists and emerging talent, the Festival showcases latest developments and crossovers in music , all with roots from cultures outside Western Europe. The guiding theme of the festival is Tracks, showing how cultural background and traditions play a role and are an inspiration for making music. ”  You can join the party from the 22nd to the 26th of this month, at locations all across Amsterdam.

Project Amsterdam Street Art

Starting it’s second year in existence this week, the Amsterdam Street Art exhibition is kicking off this week from the 22nd to the 26th.  A platform to bring street art to the public arena and give it the art “credit” that it deserves, this project will host art by well-known and up & coming artists and events in several venues all over town.  Keep a good eye out, you never know where it will pop up: some venues are well-known stores and galleries, but a lot of the art is going to be created on the street- naturally!

Meet the Blogger Event at Hotel V

If you are a lifestyle or design blogger, or at least an avid reader of lifestyle and design blogs, then this event will be a treat for you!  Hosted by Urban Style Vibes  and VT Wonen here at Hotel V,  a host of well-known bloggers (Decor8, Lily’s Cupcakes, and Flavourites) and will be here to give presentations and question & answer sessions about their blogs and their lives as bloggers.  An inspiration to us all!

The event is sadly already closed for registration, but if you managed to snag a place then we will see you there!

Vondelpark Open Air Theater

For the last weekend in June you can also always hit up the Vondelpark for some quality (and free!) concerts.  Pack a picnic, grab a spot (either at the stage or close enough in the grass nearby to hear the music) and enjoy!
